Max Plugins & Scripts
This is a little list of my Favorite Max Plugins & Scripts. Some I use all the time, others a little less frequently.
Ephere Scene Manager is a great tool for managing your scene and layers!
gw::Ivy is an implementation of Thomas Lufts Ivy Generator for 3DS Max. It works directly in the Max viewport without needing to export the meshes to OBJ.
Texporter is a great tool, that I mostly use for exporting my UV map!
This macroscript is a replacement for the save function. It saves incremental file versions while keeping the name of the latest – most-up-to-date version always the same as the original file. This is good for XRef’ing because the filename does not change. The link will actually take you to the site of Martin Breidt, he has written loads of great scripts that I use all the time!
This is a great set of tools that replaces you current UV Unwrap Tools! Go to the page, and hit cntrl+A to select all the text on the page or you’re not going to be able to read it!!
Updated:- Someone has modded the Unwrap Tools adding new features like Soft Selection in the editor. Get it Here!!
A nice little script that doesn’t change any materials in your scene, but still renders out an occlusion pass! This plugin is designed to function with VRay!
Orionflame is a production-proven polygonal & subdivision surface modeling extension for 3ds max
Advanced Painter is a modular object distribution tool with brush based interface, it helps create things like, Fur, Grass, Stone & has a handy Randomiser!
ICT Tools for 3DS Max are a great alternative to the famous “Polyboost” tools, and they are free. ICT adds some much needed functionality to the standard set of modeling and selection tools in 3DS Max, and can be a huge productivity boost.
Roadkill is not only free, it’s actually pretty damn good. UVs are always complicated and tedious, but Roadkill UV Tool takes away some of that pain, and the price is right. You can get an XSI version Here!
